Trade Deficit with China Decreases $4.2 Billion in March

The trade deficit with China decreased $4.2 billion to $15.5 billion in the month of March.

Exports to China in March increased $0.3 billion to $7.8 billion and imports from China decreased $3.9 billion to $23.3 billion.

The United State’s trade deficit with China has been decreasing steadily, around $2 billion each month, but has now decreased over $8 billion in the past two.

In 2019, the U.S.’s trade deficit with China decreased $73.9 billion to $345.6 billion. Trade deficits with China are expected to continue to decrease as China committed to importing an additional $200 billion from the United States in the Phase One Trade Deal signed this past January.
