Japan is directing “all elementary schools, junior high schools and senior high schools as well as special needs schools to close temporarily from March 2, next week, until spring break” due to the Coronavirus outbreak within the country.

Prime Minister of Japan Abe Shinshu says the decision to close schools is “to prevent one patient cluster to create another cluster so as to contain the outbreak swiftly.”

As of yesterday, 164 people in Japan had been infected by the Coronavirus including one death.
