Iraqi Military Bases Housing U.S. Military Hit with Missiles from Iran

“At approximately 5:30 p.m. (EST) on January 7, Iran launched more than a dozen ballistic missiles against U.S. military and coalition forces in Iraq.” An official Department of Defense statement reports “these missiles were launched from Iran and targeted at least two Iraqi military bases hosting U.S. military and coalition personnel”. Iran’s foreign minister Javad Zarif has confirmed Iran launched the missiles “in self-defense”, targeting the bases “from which cowardly armed attack against our citizens & senior officials were launched”; referring to the United State’s air strike last week which killed Qasem Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force. There are no confirmed U.S. casualties at this point, and President Trump has tweeted an assessment “of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good!”
