Iran Makes Arrests in Relation to Downing of Commercial Plane Which Killed 176

Iranian judiciary spokesman Gholam-Hossein Esmaili has announced that “a number of individuals have been arrested” in relation to the downing of the Ukrainian commercial plane which killed 176 passengers.

President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani says “the government will continue its efforts until all aspects of the incident are investigated and to make sure that those involved are punished and assure people that such things will not happen again”. President Rouhani added that his “government considers itself responsible for the loss of the dear Iranians and citizens of other countries and will perform all its legal duties” including holding “a special court with a high-ranking judge and dozens of experts.”
