U.S. and GM Reach Agreement on Ventilator Production

The United States and General Motors (GM) have reached an agreement for GM to produce 30,000 ventilators at a total contract price of $489.4 million.

Nearly two weeks ago, President Trump invoked the Defense Production Act requiring General Motors to manufacture ventilators to help with the Covid-19 emergency. Now with an official contract, GM will deliver 30,000 ventilators “by the end of August 2020, with a production schedule allowing for the delivery of 6,132 ventilators by June 1, 2020.”

GM’s ventilators will be added to the Strategic National Stockpile.
