As many as 81 people have been killed by a Boko Haram/Islamic State’s West Africa Province terrorist attack in Nigeria.

According to the Nigerian Army, “sleeper cell” terrorists were planted in the communities, and today “ambushed and killed innocent women and children” in Gubio, a town in Nigeria’s northeastern state of Borno.

Reports of upwards of tens of thousands of people have been killed in the past decade of Boko Haram’s insurgency in northeast Nigeria.

Nigerian Colonel Sagir Musa commented that “these callous attacks” by Boko Haram terrorists “will not go unpunished”.
