The United States has conducted an airstrike against “ISIS-Somalia terrorists” in Somalia, killing seven ISIS-Somalia terrorists.

U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) public affairs reports the airstrike as retaliatory, “after [the terrorists] attacked partner forces” in the area.

Over the past year and a half, more than 90 airstrikes have been orchestrated by U.S. forces in the region. Amid allegations that these attacks have killed innocent civilians, AFRICOM assesses that “no civilians were injured or killed as a result of these airstrikes”.
