Senate Votes Against Hearing Witnesses in Trump Impeachment Trial

In a party-line vote of 51-49, senators voted against allowing witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump. In accordance with the rules for the impeachment trial, both witnesses and documents would have been available for subpoena with a simple majority vote.

Instead, now the Senate shall vote on each article of impeachment in the coming days.
