President Trump Suspends All Travel from Europe to U.S. for 30 Days

In an Oval Office speech moments ago, President Trump announced the U.S. is “suspending all travel from Europe to the United States for the next 30 days”. “Exemptions for Americans” will apply. Additionally, this “will not apply to the United Kingdom.”

President Trump also mentioned he is instructing the Small Business Association to “begin providing economic loans” with “low interest” to “provide extra support” for American businesses affected by the virus. On top of these loans, the President is asking the the Treasury Department to defer tax payments for these businesses. To support this, the President says he plans to ask Congress for $50 Billion in emergency funding. He also is looking to Congress to approve “immediate payroll tax relief”.

President Trump also referenced a recent meeting with Health Insurers, who “have agreed to waive all copays on coronavirus testing and extend coverage for coronavirus treatment in all of their benefit plans.”
