President Trump Lowers Pay Raise for All Civilian Federal Employees
President Trump revealed “an alternative plan for pay adjustments for civilian Federal employees”, lowering an anticipated pay raise of 2.5% to 1%.
“Under current law,… a 2.5 percent across-the-board increase” “would go into effect in January 2021”. Instead, the President has “determined that for 2021 the across-the-board base pay increase will be limited to 1.0 percent”.
President Trump says that because of “national emergency or serious economic conditions affecting the general welfare,” the 2.5% pay increases would be “inappropriate”.
