Over 900 COVID-19 Deaths in U.S. Two Days in a Row, Most Since Beginning of June

991 people in the United States died due to COVID-19 within the past 24 hours, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

This follows the previous day in which 932 people in the U.S. had died due to COVID-19.

This is the first instance of consecutive days with over 900 COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. since early June, and the highest daily total of deaths since June 3.

This past 24 hours also saw the highest number of daily cases recorded, 64,771 new COVID-19 cases in the U.S.
