Over 1,000 Deaths Due to COVID in U.S. Two Days in a Row

More than 2,100 people have died due to COVID-19 in the United States in the past two days as the CDC reports 1,078 have died within the last 24 hours from the virus. This is the first time there has been more than 1,000 deaths from COVID for two days in a row since June 2 and 3.

The CDC also reports over 70,000 new cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. within the past 24 hours, bringing the total cases in the U.S. to over four million. Recent reports have also suggested “that there were 10 times more cases than reported” from March to May.

There have been a reported 142,755 deaths due to COVID-19 in the United States thus far.
